Dental Veneers![]() Issues Dental Veneers can FixWe aren’t joking when we say that dental veneers are the most powerful tool we have to transform a smile in nearly any way. With veneers we have the ability to fix:
Essentially, we can use veneers to fix just about any issue you may have with your front teeth. You get to choose exactly how your new smile will look! What Veneers Areconsidering how many issues they can fix, veneers are fairly small and unassuming. Veneers are very thin and durable pieces of porcelain that are shaped like the front of your tooth. They are typically made to wrap around the part of the sides and top of your teeth, much like a mask fits over the front of your face. They have the incredible abilities described above because we can have them crafted to fit over the teeth any particular way we want. If there is a gap between two teeth we can craft two veneers that will appear to close that gap. Having Dental Veneers PlacedIt usually takes at least two visits to have veneers made and placed. During the first visit we will prepare your teeth to receive the veneers by lightly buffing the front surface of the teeth. This buffing removes some of the enamel from the tooth to allow for the thickness of the veneers. By removing a portion of the enamel form the teeth the veneers are able to look natural on the teeth instead of too thick, or large.Once we have prepared the teeth to receive the veneers, we can take an impression of each tooth to be sent to our dental lab so that they can produce a veneer that will match the color and opacity of your natural teeth perfectly. Once we finish preparing the teeth to receive the veneers you will be done with your first appointment. Sometimes we will fit patients with temporary veneers if the aesthetic is greatly affected by the preparation work. By the second appointment we will have the permanent veneers back from our dental lab and will be able to place them onto your teeth using a permanent dental cement.
