Correcting Your Smile is Possible with Dental Bonding

Posted on 7/10/2018 by Sergio Ortegon
Correcting Your Smile is Possible with Dental BondingIf you have a gap in between your teeth, you can opt for dental bonding. This is a procedure for cosmetic changes to mask any imperfections in your pearly whites such as a crack, discoloration or chip. This is a non-invasive procedure and you can immediately go home afterwards.

Bonding is also the very cheap alternative compared to veneers. For instance, you may spend as little as $300 per tooth for dental bonding, while porcelain veneers will set you back at least $900 to $1,000 per tooth.

Regaining Your Confidence Back
That gap in your teeth actually has a name: it's called a diastema. In the US, only a small portion of the population has a gap in their tooth. In fact, the American Dental Association estimates that about 1.6 percent and up to 25.6 percent adults have this condition.

It's important that you visit our office right away, so we can suggest a possible solution for your particular problem. The beauty about this procedure is the instant gratification. You will leave our clinic a much different and more confident person than when you come out. We can finish the procedure in one sitting.

While dental bonding is invaluable to address diastema, not everyone qualifies for this procedure. If the gap is too huge, orthodontic treatment may be your best bet. Of course, we won't suggest any method without first examining your mouth.

Just a caveat, however, dental bonding should not be made as a viable alternative to implants. The adhesive itself is not as strong, so refrain from drinking anything overly acidic, alcohol or drinks that can stain the bond.

Smoking cigarettes will also thin out the material. If you think you can't live without soda, coffee or alcohol, we can talk about putting some porcelain veneers on you.
